ariette Labonté has long possessed a passion for working with students to achieve their learning objectives. She has committed over 25 years in this regard, in a career that has seen her perform in the positions of Director of Student Special Services and Education Consultant for several Ontario School Boards, in addition to teaching at the elementary, secondary and university levels.

Mariette holds a Masters Degree in Special Education and Bachelor Degrees in Education, Psychology and French. She is presently in the process of completing her Ph D. studies in Special Education.

Mariette has extensive experience working within the Ontario school system, with a focus on supporting students with learning challenges to achieve their education objectives.She has worked closely with students, parents, board personnel and other professionals to identify and resolve a broad range of learning impediments directly impacting academic and social performance. Specifically, she has performed assessments and screenings to assess students' academic skills, learning environments and school climate, developed student-tailored academic and behavioural management and learning strategies designed to reduce student's risk of failure at a preventative level. She has administered and evaluated academic programs and behavioural management systems through Functional Behavioural Assessments, Behavioural Intervention Plans and Individual Education Plans.

Mariette has also played a key role in facilitating school board-wide programs in the following areas: Reflective Practice, Bullying, Behavioural, Self Esteem, Conflict Resolutions, Anger Management, Teacher and Parent Training and Staff Development.
